Universal Works Of Healing services and alternative modalities are like any others, they are meant to compliment and work well with modern medicine, treatment plans, exercises, rehabilitation or psychiatric care you may be receiving. I strongly encourage and recommend you check with your medical physician, primary care doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist or therapist about your decision to seek out alternative forms for healing and make sure that they approve your participation before booking an appointment. Always check to make sure any supplementations, herbs or essential oils you may be considering will not interact with any prescribed medications you are currently taking. My practice is not and should not ever be viewed as a substitution for medical or psychiatric care.

Please do not confuse the two professions
Traditional doctors treat symptoms. They provide medical solutions to alleviate a disease or illness. They have a degree in medicine, and they may specialize in a particular field. These are your pediatricians, cardiologists, oncologists, obstetricians, gynecologists, optometrists, orthopedists and traditional doctors, such as primary care physicians (PCPs), who may also be generalists, psychiatrists, psychologists or therapists . When several bodily systems are affected by a certain health condition or disease you’re experiencing, multiple specialists may work together to control your symptoms or treat your illness or diseases. This traditional approach with medicine is generally seen as reactionary rather than preventive.
Holistic medicine or alternative healing are terms which tend to embrace the larger definition of a system of treatment. These are practitioners who do not work within the system of conventional medicine. A holistic or alternative healing practitioner treats the body as one. The purpose is to find the cause behind the dis-ease, instead of just focusing on the symptoms. Holism promotes the belief that the three elements of a human being (mind-body-spirit) must be treated together in order to achieve any notion of ‘healing,’ rather than simply treating a person for a specific illness or injury. Alternative healing practitioners believe illness and injury are often the result of disharmony in the mind-body-spirit, which is seen as one. Dis-harmony can often come about from a dysfunction in any one of these areas. But, holistic practitioners believe that a dysfunction in one area affects the whole person and not just that one area of the body.
